The expedition kicked off from Holy Cross Church of Akhalkalak where members of the youth union and Father Tatev Marukyan prayed for the souls of the victims of the Armenian Genocide to rest in peace, after which they headed towards the building of Akhalkalak City Council where they handed appeal-letters with the following content over to president of the sakrebulo (city council) Hamlet Movsisyan, the gamgebeli (district head) Eduard Aghasaryan and elected deputy from Akhalkalak Samvel Petrosyan:

We, representatives of Armenian youth organizations based in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Quemo-Qartli, on behalf of ourselves and the members of our organizations, ask and demand that you be consistent within the limits of your competences to make sure that the Board and Assembly of Akhalkalak City Council decide

1. to recognize April 24th as a day of remembrance and commemoration of the victims of the Armenian Genocide;

2. set April 24th as a non-working day;

3. allow organizing and holding events and marches to perpetuate and commemorate the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide;

4. submit the demands to the Parliament of Georgia to prevent the Armenian Genocide and future genocides.

After transmitting the letters, the youth continued the expedition and moved from Akhalkalak to the St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral located at one of the peaks in Vachyan village.

After reaching the cathedral, the youth performed patriotic songs and talked about their plans for commemoration of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
